Hi *JSJ*,
We're going to be shoing off the BRD Lotus 49 this week at a special party involving a good number of former race drivers and many who still compete in vintage racing. We're going to be using a projector system for display so we'll have a large screen in front of the car. Since the drivers will already be sitting in a race thingypit having a large screen in front of the car/driver showing the thingypit view looks a little odd to me... I'd much rather use the nose cam view (#9 under driving view preference) along with some alterations to move it higher... perhaps using Car Cam Editor. Since I recently added a special shifter, I am using your GPLShift program. Problem is, with this latest version (0.710 Alpha), I can't seem to be able to force the nose cam view... I know it's worked with other versions in the past, but this one it reverts immediately back to the standard thingypit view. Am I doing something wrong here? Or is there a trick to doing this with the latest version? Any suggestions?

Hi Jack, You might try using GPLSA at web.infoave.net/~nenne/GPLSAGS2005.zip to adjust the thingypit view way forward and a bit up to get the nose or just above nose view. BTW, the 3do must be outside of the car DAT for this to be used. I don't know if you can get GPLSA to change that far. What car are you using? I might try some tests here. I'm guessing that the GPL cackpit view is adjustable completely differently from the car cams, thus the inability of GPLShift to change the car cam view.

Just tried this and with the 67 Eagle, went from x = 0.0100 up to 0.9000 (forward) and z = 0.3550 up to 0.5000 (up) to get rid of the front wheels. Now you can do the look right/left as in the cackpit, but of course you don't see the gauges for RPM etc but Digital Display Modifier can fill that info in. The head seems to have become detached and is in the middle of the engine so screenshots might not look great.

Wow, thanks Bob! You're the one I was going to call on some of this, but misplaced your phone number. Can I call you about some of these other things we're working on? If so, email me and give me your phone number OK?
We are using the Lotus of course.
Thanks again!
