Hello,
I've been using the GPLshift patch for several years now and recently a question has boggled my mind.
Why doesn't the G25/27 shifter work with GPLShift layout 2?
What I mean, is this:
Shifting_Behaviour = 1 ;OPTIONS: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ;EFFECT:
;1 =
; 1 3 5 -
; 2 4 6 Rev
;NB: LT G25 & G27 Shifter works only in this Mode
;-------------------------------------------------
;2 = Support for the BRM Car left side gearbox
; 5 3 1 -
; 6 4 2 Rev
;NB: All other Cars will run in Mode 1
;-------------------------------------------------
Being a little bit of a perfectionist, I'd love to be able to mount my shifter on the left side and use the authentic shifter layout for the BRM, but why wouldn't it work? Does it have to do with the hardcoding of the shifter buttons in the Logitech driver software? How first gear is *always* Button 9 and sixth gear is *always* Button 15?
I've been thinking of ways to set the buttons differently but I've got no idea. Hence why I wanted to post this over here.
I don't know, maybe someone here could have an idea, or a way to try and puzzle together a way to implement this, if possible.
Feel free to use this thread as a brainstorming thread - I'm sure full of ideas how to implement it, but I'm an absolute noob when it comes to implementing it.
Cheers!
