FOV Limit?

Is there any specific reason for the FOV limit of 86.2? I would like to be able to use something wider since I have a widescreen monitor, and would benefit from the peripheral vision.

Yes, because of stange graphic behaviour in unlimited view, as I remember it,
but I will check it again with my new W. Monitor.
