Great job on this utility! It's fast becoming one of the most popular gpl add-ons in all of the leagues I race in.
We noticed something that's a bit disorienting. When we use the looking 90d left/right, we see a flash of the offside view. For example, waiting for the flag, if I look right where there's no car, for a brief instant I see the car on my left.
I wondered whether you were trying to show the other 45d view so it was a little smoother glancing 90 or 135 (if not, have you considered it?), and accidently swapped sides?

Hi Mike Polan
Thanks
a button confligt? Don't assign same buttons in GPL own Option/Controlles for Look Left, Right as in GPLshift.ini, spec. when using Double/TripleClick function change it to Keyboad Z X in GPL own setup
Update to v0.551 (0.550 okay)
Any luck?

Hi JSJ, I double checked, definitely there's no button conflict - I use buttons 2, 3, 4 and 7 for the views on my act-labs wheel, set up in GPLSHIFT.ini, and it seems to be working okay. I've got z & x defined in the GPL screen to keep from conflicting with the utility. I definitely see a brief flash of the offside when I look 90d in one direction. I verified again at Bugatti, where we happen to be racing tonight. When I enter the pits, I hit the button to look 90d right, and I see a brief flash of the pit signs (like the shell sign) to the left, before the plain, concrete right side comes into view. Same thing happens with the look left 90d button. The two 45d glance buttons are very smooth. This may confuse rather than help, but it also seems to me I can see a glimpse of the rearward view as well - from my spot in the pits, I could see a flash of the big esso signs that are behind me. The flashes are so short, it's difficult to make out exactly what's there, but it's definitely the offside and something else. I'm also not the only one, a few others have seen the same thing, so somethings up, though it could perhaps be related to the video card (I'm using a Voodoo5) if you're not seeing it. Great utility though , this problem is not keeping me from using it - though I'm very careful when I try to look 90d left or right, as it can make it difficult to make sense of what I see. Thanks again!

Okay, gplshift.ini on it's way. As I mentioned in my email, you probably don't need to install bugatti, it's the same at every track (that I tried), you just need a track with some convenient stuff on one side and something bland on the other so the momentary flash is recognizable. Thanks again!

Hi Mike Polan
I have received GPLshift.ini v0.541 But I suggest you update to newest bug fixed v0.551! and then try again Warning: Please don't use the old .INI file with GPLshift+ 0.551, it will not work, only use files from GPLsf551.zip If you still have problems, then send the new .INI to me

Yes, that fixed it - it works great now, very smooth - I'm looking foward to trying it. Sorry, I didn't realize I was down level. Thanks again!

I'm also having a flash problem while using an Act Labs USB Force RS when multi-click look is enabled and when I downshift using paddle 0. This has been verified with both 0.571 and 0.580 on GPL 1.2.0.2, and the system is running XP with all current updates except the recent infamous slowdown patch.
There are no button assignment conflicts in the ini file, and the only wheel buttons assigned in GPL are paddles 0 and 1 for shifting - the GPL look, arm-raise, and pitboard assignments are all to the keyboard. The problem occurs whether 122 degree look is enabled or not. Finally, the flash is a glance of a few tens of milliseconds to 45 degrees right, only a few frames, but is disorienting enough to keep me from using the multi-click feature.
Also, with multi-click enabled the view default sometimes changes from zero degrees to right 45 degrees. Only restarting GPL resolves that one.
Any ideas?
So, for now I'm not using multi-click, which is a neat feature for driving. Also, thank you a whole lot for the mouse look functionality which is neat in replays especially, though a little unwieldy for driving.
