How about incorporating a font patch

I have copied the discussion below from a GPL thread.
Could the chat font size be incorporated into GPLshift???
"last week was my first online racing week."
So I saw for the first time the little characters of the chatline in the racing view. I remembered a solution with copying a new font into the font folder.
But: in the car setup table I can't read all the values anymore (because they are to big sized).
I looked into GPL.EXE file and after some testing I found the right place for a patch: in my german version of GPL
I changed two bytes at the adress 14D0B8Hex from 31Hex to 32Hex and 14d0B9Hex from 30Hex to 34Hex
(there is a string with the name of the chat font, changed it from 'optx10b' to 'optx24b').
